Welded composite counterweights for tow tractors and terminal tractors in the 10–100 tonne class. Built to your drawing, with the coupling integrated into the part.
This is the one place tow tractor buyers most often get caught out: a “100 tonne tow tractor” does not take a 100 tonne counterweight. 10–100 t is the tractor's towing capacity.
If you already have the part as a casting, the weight is settled — we simply re-engineer it as a welded fabrication and match the specified weight exactly. How cast-to-welded conversion works.
Built to your drawing, with the coupling, lifting points and clearances machined in.
| Application | Tow tractors and terminal tractors, 10 – 100 t towing capacity |
|---|---|
| Material | Q355B (S355JR) Steel Plate — welded box construction, filled with compacted steel sand at 4.8 t/m³ |
| Weight | Built to your specified weight. The tractor's towing capacity does not determine it — send us the model or your drawing and we will confirm the figure. |
| Weight Tolerance | ±1% of specified weight, confirmed by weighing before the cover plate is welded on |
| Manufacturing | CNC laser cutting → press brake forming → MIG welding → steel sand filling → weighing → cover plate welding → machining → surface finishing |
| Surface Treatment | Shot blasting + anti-rust primer + high-durability enamel paint. Custom RAL colors and logos available. |
| Mounting | Bolt-on with reinforced mounting bosses, machined to your drawing or 3D model |
| Integrated Features | Tow pin bosses, towing eyes, lifting points and local clearances machined per drawing |
| Standards | ISO 9001:2015, material cert per GB/T 1591 Q355B (S355JR) |
| Packaging | Heavy-duty wooden crate with VCI rust protection, braced for the part's weight |
| MOQ | 1 unit (sample), 5+ units (production batch) |
| Lead Time | 45 days depending on quantity and customization |
| Customization | OEM/ODM: custom weight, dimensions, color, logo, and mounting arrangement |
Low-volume machines are the hardest case for casting, because the tooling has to be spread across very few units. Welded fabrication removes that problem entirely.
Send us the existing casting drawing or a sample and our engineers will return a welded-fabrication proposal within 24 hours.
The more detail you share, the faster and more accurate your quotation will be.
No drawings? Send us photos or the tractor brand and model — our engineers will work from that and send a technical review within 24 hours.
We build counterweights for tow tractors and terminal tractors across the 10 to 100 tonne class. The tonnage refers to the towing capacity of the tractor, not to the weight of the counterweight — tell us the tractor model and we will confirm the counterweight weight that goes with it.
It is set by your drawing rather than by a catalogue range — the tractor's centre of gravity and the drawbar pull it has to generate decide it. The tonnage in the model name (10–100 t) is the tractor's towing capacity, not the weight of the part. Send us the tractor model or your drawing and we will confirm the exact figure before quoting.
Yes. We routinely machine tow pin bosses, towing eyes, lifting points and other features into the counterweight per the tractor model or your drawing, so the counterweight carries the coupling rather than needing a separate bracket.
Yes. Send us the existing casting drawing or a physical sample and we will re-engineer it as a welded box filled with compacted steel sand. There is no pattern tooling to pay for, MOQ drops to 1 unit, and a design change is handled by re-issuing the drawing rather than cutting a new pattern.
Yes. MOQ is 1 unit for samples and 5+ units for production batches. Sample lead time is 45 days depending on complexity.
